U37 Cyberbullying

An example of how to demonstrate an article:

  1. Introduction: (A) ask the audience some pre-reading questions

eg. Have you ever criticized or picked on anyone on the Internet? Why did you do so?

Have you ever been attacked verbally on the Internet? How did you feel?

(B) show the audience a video clip or a picture related to the theme of the article

2. Outline: ( Discuss the outline with the teacher one week before the presentation. )

e.g. paragraph 1: The advantages and disadvantages of the Internet

paragraph 2: Bullying and cyberbullying

paragraph 3: Cyberbullying on Facebook

paragraph 4: Cyberbullying in the U.S.

paragraph 5: Challenges and ways to stop cyberbullying

3. Comprehension questions: ( Ask the audience before or after the explanation of the article )

e.g. p1: What are the advantages and disadvantages of using the Internet?

p2: What does bullying and cyberbullying mean?

p3: How are people bullied on Facebook?

How do the victims of cyberbullying feel?

p4: How many Ss have been bullied in the U.S.?

p5: How to stop bullying? Will that work?

4. Post-reading questions / discussion

(A) ask the audience to answer the six questions of each article

(B) ask the audience to discuss a question in groups

e.g. How would you help your friend if you know he or she is cyberbullied?
